Every case is unique and every case has it's own value. There are some "rules of thumb" as to value of most cases, which can be used to give a "ballpark" value.

3 times the medical bills. This used to be a good indicator, but currently most cases are lucky to get 2 times the medical bills, in a small rear-ender.
- The more damage to your vehicle, usually equates with more value in your case. The logic is that if you took a "Big Hit", then you probably got pretty hurt in the process.
- A broken arm or leg, or a knee that needs surgery, is worth way more than 3 times your medical bills. The logic here, is that these types of injuries cause much more trauma, than a "soft tissue" injury, and you should be compensated accordingly.
- Being disabled for a long period of time, allows you to claim lost earnings. The more work you miss, due to your injuries, the greater the value of your lost earnings claim.
- A scar is much more significant on a young Woman, than an older Man. As such, the young Woman, would be entitled to greater compensation.
